Next!!!

I am sitting on the 10th floor balcony looking at the Gulf of Mexico and listening to the surf as it races up to the sandy beach.  The sky is blue with billowing clouds hiding the sun before she breaks free to send her rays to earth.  The seagulls are calling out as they protect their food finds from others.  The pelicans are skimming just a few inches above the water while others are dive-bombing head first into the Gulf for their lunch.  People are sitting in groups under the blue beach umbrellas dotting the white sand while others are riding bikes or walking their dogs.  Couples are strolling hand-in-hand along the water's edge and children are chasing the sea gulls.  The ice cream/water man with his fake palm tree is walking up and down the beach ringing his bell - much nicer sound than the repetitive songs played by the trucks back home.   Several waverunners are racing along the water leaving long wakes behind them in the quest for speed only to turn around and go back where they started, the plumes of water spouting from the back.  There is one brave soul parasailing; the red sail billows out behind them as they go higher up into the sky.

It is a lazy Monday and I am enjoying myself!!!  And, yes, I wish you were all here with me!!

Today is the first nice day since we got here.  We have found ourselves running between rain drops and failing miserably since Friday.  Seems the drops are not feet apart but right next to each other.  I think I'll have to send a memo to the demi-gods to fix that.  Each drop must be a minimum of three feet from it's neighbor so we can run between them!  (Think they'll listen to me?)

I did get to see most of my grandson's soccer game (he scored a goal but the team lost 4-2) on Saturday before we got a record amount of rain for that date - about 3.3 inches (previous record for that date down here was 1.7 inches).  I did get to meet another FB Castle Age friend at the Fort Myers Pirate Festival so that was very cool.  I did also manage to break my prescription sun glasses so spent yesterday afternoon arranging for a new pair and will pick them up early evening tonight (you CANNOT be in Florida without protection)!  Now a logical question to ask might be:

Me:  "Because the bow hinge broke and the lenses were scratched."

You:  "How did that happen?"

Me:  "That happened when they hit the pavement."

You:  "Why did they hit the pavement?"

Me:  "They hit the pavement when they flew off my head."

You:  "Why did they fly off your head?"

Me:  "They flew off my head as I was falling."

You:  "Why were you falling?"

Me:  "I was falling because I tripped."

You:  "What did you trip over?"

Me:  "I tripped over a speed bump in the hotel parking lot."

You:  "Why did you trip over THAT?"

Me:  "I turned my head while I was walking and it jumped up in front of me causing me to slide like a baseball player diving head-first into home plate."

Me again:  "Now do you have the picture?"

STATUS REPORT from NCAK:  Larien is recovering nicely.  The wedding party observers of the incident have left the building.  The videographer has taken his camera and is recovering from the trauma of witnessing the out at home base.  Larien's body bruises are lessing in color intensity but still pale in comparison to the bruised ego and pride of our Queen.  It seems our Larien will survive to battle on and lead us to future victories.

We played a wonderfully fun version of the board game Clue - The Office.  New twist on an old game favorite based on the popular TV show.  However, after much bragging by Brian that he would win as he always does, nobody won!  Yes, hard to believe that we could play a board game with five people and NO ONE WIN but it's the truth.  But that's what happens when someone messes up, all the truth doesn't come out, and incorrect assumptions are made!

Tomorrow will be THE BEACH for sure!!  As for now, I will leave you all to your activities and I am signing out from Larien's Corner until later!!
